I love that the new curriculum has puzzles and games in it!

Today is going to be game day before we start on Linear Relations.  We've already played some Nim and Settlers of Catan but I think today will be crib, solitaire and chess.

What kind of games do you like to do with your classes?

I haven't tried any yet - am a bit scared. I have a very ecclectic group. I will think of some and try next week.

I've done Sudoku a number of times. Find a medium difficulty one, project on the Smartboard, and have wtudents do it in groups of 3 at their own whiteboards. They really like it.

I like the idea of doing it together in groups.  I've tried just letting them work on Sudokus individually and the ones that like it have fun but there are many who don't get much out of it and could use some support from others.  Thanks for the idea.

I was really happy with how engaged they were. A few times when groups discovered they made a mistake, they erased their entire board and started over. If that's not engagement, I don't know what is!
