Hi, I joined the group last week. I haven't had chance to share any of my stuff yet, but I will soon. I am going in the order: Rates, Ratios, etc (ch 8), Quadratic Functions (ch 6), Quadratic Equations (ch 7). I have definately had some struggles. I decided to do Quads right from the get go since my group isn't overly attentive. I figured by getting it done, I could go easier with them after and give them a break in difficulty before I venture into Ch 4. They are writing their Strand Test on Ch 6 and 7 on Wed, and so far their review has gone quite well. Definately some kids are struggling (but they really should be in 20-3 not -2). I found factoring, much better with them this year as compared to 10-C. I was surprised how much they remembered. My biggest surprise was how much they have difficulty remembering how to use their calc. and remembering that it is always on their desk so they can check their work. I'm definately going to supplement with more basic worksheets next time through in the spring. I feel though that I'm really behind (even though I'm pretty sure I'm not). I guess that's what it feels like when you're pulling teeth every day! All my lessons are also on SMART, but I'd be more than happy to share all my stuff. Just one question. Is this site secure -- meaning is it teacher access only? I don't want to share my quizzes and tests if its an open site. If anyone would like to share, I'd be happy to share thru email instead of this site. Just let me know.
