Radical & Rational Equations

This semester was my first time through the course and I was wondering to what extent other teachers addressed solving radical and rational equations. It seems to be virtually non-existant in the standards document except to find x-intercepts graphically and recognize as zeros of the function. Yet, the text devotes considerable time to algebraic techniques, which could be a useful skill for Math 31. Are others spending time on this topic or focussing on graphical techniques primarily?

I taught this course last semester and focussed on the graphical approach more.  In Math 20-1 the focus was an algebraic approach to solve Rational and Radical equations.
